this weekend i enjoyed four days at Electric Forest on the grounds of JJ's Ranch in Rothberry, MI. i went with my best friend and two other good friend. the four of us packed up to leave on thursday and arrived that night. we got to the campsite pretty late at night, set up a tent that was barely big enough for the four of us, packed some beer and headed off to the forest.
the place was pure magic. lights and sculpture littered the ground in the most beautiful fashion. my favorite place, the place where i found the most respite was the nest. a large ring built of sticks and twigs, filled with hay and happy people hopped up on psychedelic pills.
we spent a lot of time with our two friendly camping neighbors, Kris and AJ. generous, chill, and lots of fun. they were two friends who traveled from colorado for the music.
my views on music were changed a lot. i discovered that there are so many layers to any individual song. and there is much more to a piece of music that would normally hit the ears through some headphones. live music really changes everything.
i kept finding the urge to compare the experience to Woodstock. the people, the fashion, the hobbies and fads. i wonder if there was anyone in 1969 that lived a parallel timeline. went with three friend and stayed in a microscopic tent. met the neighbors and made great friends in the end
